GL is at the position of Sun at the time of sunrise and it moves at the uniform rate of one rasi in 1 ghati (24 minutes). If we find the number of minutes elapsed since sunrise and divide it by 24, we get the ghatis elapsed. If we multiply it with 30, we get the advancement of GL since sunrise. By adding this advancement to Sun’s longitude at sunrise, we get the longitude of GL. Dasa of a rasi containing or aspecting GL or dasa of a planet associated with both GL and lagna by way of ownership, conjunction or aspect usually brings a position of authority.
